Virginia Tech Survivor Families Offer $$$$ Not to File Suit!
I have mixed feelings about this story, having been a witness to the Kent State Shootings on May 4, 1970, the University, nor the Government did NOTHING to help those who survived and witnessed the shootings.
CNN is reporting that Virginia Tech Victims Families have until March 31 to accept the offer of $100 Thousand Dollars not to sue the State or the University- 32 were killed in the April 16 massacre. $800 Thousand has also been put aside for those wounded.
The CNN article also noted: In October, the families and surviving victims received payments ranging from $11,500 to $208,000 from the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund, set up in the days after the April 16 shootings to handle donations that poured into the Blacksburg school.
Money can't bring back the dead, nor heal the emotional wounds. Perhaps the money should go into a fund to help those who were witnesses to the event. I wish there had been that at Kent State....Boy do I wish that.
