Intel introduces New Techology that eliminates Power Cords
Yesterday Intel showed off a technology that allowed a 60 watt light bulb to light up, yet it was 3 feet away from the power source- this technology developed by MIT. Though the technology needs much more development to become a commercial product- Intel is hopeful of adapting it to laptops for charging without power cords. The biggest challenge according to MIT is the escape of power.
Is this Science Fiction come true? One will assume that there will be much testing to determine whether this type of open power source will do harm to life. i.e. humans, plants, animals

I am glad to hear someone is finally going to pick up Nikola Tesla's idea of wireless power transmission. If J.P.Morgan had not been so stingy and greed driven we would have been years ahead in this field of physics. He could not see a way to charge people for free wireless power so he cut Tesla's funding before he could finish his project.
