Shaun Dykes 17, Goaded by Crowd to Jump to His Death in Northern England! "How Far Can You Bounce?"
Remember when you were young, and you were goaded into something by your friends? Your parents or siblings would say- "If someone told you to jump off a cliff, Would you do it?" In Derby in Northern England, Shaun Dykes wanted to commit suicide. He was standing on top of a multi-story car garage wanting to jump. Police arrived, as did spectators. For 3 hours Dykes was on the ledge contemplating jumping, or going on living- police tried to talk him out of it, but the onlookers yelled, "Get on with it!" "Jump!" and "How Far Can You Bounce?" Shaun jumped and committed suicide. But the kicker to this story is that the onlookers rushed to the scene and took pictures of his crumpled body! Authorities were "very disappointed" the crowd behaved the way it did! I have noticed a log of google hits on this story for suicide images- as of the posting- there were none available. Thankfully!

Why didn't the local police arrest those idiots? They say it wasn't an offence! How about incitment to commit suicide? How about obtructing the police in the exercise of their duty? Where they thick or lazy?

This behavior makes me ashamed to be British. I hope all those involved never have a loved one affected by depression how can they live with their actions?

This makes me ashamed to be a member of the human race. The kid had family, friends, his life ahead of him - all of which was thrown away because people wanted to be amused for five minutes.
