Happy Birthday Harry Shearer's Le Show - 25th Year on Radio!

Harry Shearer began Le Show in 1983, and for the past 1300 Sunday's the syndicated radio show has been part of the NPR lineup. Most of you regular readers know that I listen to the show on a podcast during my 2.6 mile walk each Sunday afternoon. The satirical humor and insight into the world today  keeps me smiling as I walk up the hills of the San Fernanado Valley.

So There was Cheating on UltimateBet and AbsolutePoker! Russ Hamilton Named by 60 Minutes as the Cheater!

Though we don't get 60 Minutes on the West Coast for another hour or so, the web is alive with an article from the Washington Post that details the cheating scandal that was uncovered by players themselves. If I am going to lose money, I want to lose it face-to-face in Vegas.

Russ Hamilton, a master poker player was named by 60 Minutes as one of the Cheaters.

The article is a long read, but a thorough reporting job on this online scandal, that affected many who played on and "trusted" the two online poker sites.

RIP Bill Drake - The Father of the Top 40 Radio Format!

Bill Drake passed away from lung cancer Saturday Nov 29, according to Radio & Records. Most people don't know who Bill Drake is, but if you listened to radio from the 1960's on, you will know the Top 40 Hits format, Bill Drake created at the helm of Drake/Chenault.

Susan Mikula, aspiring artist - Partner to MSNBC's Rachel Maddow

Update 12/18: Susan Mikula is having an art show tomorrow in NYC  - Gothamist

Until I read the new issue of Newsweek, I hadn't heard of Susan Mikula. But now that Rachel Maddow has been thrust to Cable News Stardom, so-to-speak, the world is going to want to learn a little bit more about Rachel's longtime partner. It seems they met when Mikula was looking for a yard boy to clean up her yard, and according to the Newsweek article, when Maddow came to the door Maddow fell for her instantly. Salsa Splatter of Virgin Mary appears on Elvia Alvarez's Bakersfield Wall along with Smell of Roses!

Haven't had a good Virgin Mary or Jesus vision in a few weeks....until today- from FaceBakersfield comes this story:KBAK reports that one family believes they have been blessed with a miracle. Elvia Alvarez said to the TV station she was blending salsa in her kitchen when some splattered on the wall. Alvarez said the stain dripped into the image of the Virgin Mary. Since the stain, Alvarez claims there’s often a strong smell of roses in her home, though there aren’t any fresh roses close to her home. She believes the splatter is a message from God!

Melody LaLuz, 28, and Claudaniel Fabien, 30, Practicing Abstienence - Have Never Kissed Until Their Wedding Today!

Both Melody LaLuz, 28, and Claudaniel Fabien, 30, both virgins, teach in the Chicago Public School System, and they both teach abstinence courses at their respective schools. So they thought they would practice what they preach- until today their marriage day. I am trying track down a rumor that the cellphone of the deceased Walmart employee,Jdimypai Damour's cellphone was dropped during the melee....as he was taking a video at the time.... anyone out there with info....please leave a comment.
