Whoa! What a story (he says sarcastically)! The 16 yr old Sci-Fi channel is undergoing a name change and new brand look come July. Soon Syfy will become the channel's name. The pronunciation is the same, but the new name will give the channel broader programming appeal, and won't limit to one genre of programming. Though the channel has been broadcasting WWE's ECW wrestling for some time now. The new brand message will be "Imagine Greater"
I have had phone calls, emails and twits ( is that the correct verb) that Syfy is Polish slang for syphilis.
