Charles Lewis Jr. or Mask as he was known in the MMA, was killed by a hit and run driver in Newport Beach last night. Besides being the founder of TapouT Clothes, he also starred in a reality tv series on Versus.
At 12:57 a.m., a Newport Beach Police cruiser spotted Lewis’ red

It's anyone's guess what will happen to Kimbo Slice? But this week MMA promotion EliteXC is closing its doors, going out of business, whatever you call it- the promotion is over- according to Yahoo Sports' Dave Meltzer. Meltzer as usual does his in-depth style of reporting, that made his weekly WRESTLING OBSERVER the bible of the Wrestling Industry Yahoo Sports
I couldn't find a comment from CBS on the allegations that some bloggers are making that Saturday's EliteXC match between Kimbo Slice and Seth Petruzelli was "less than honest". Challenger and victor Petruzelli appeared on Orlando's 104.1 "Monsters in the Morning"radio show after the fight and stated: “I knew I would do all right, actually, standing up with him, but
the promoters kind of hinted to me and they gave me the money to stand
and trade with him. They didn’t want me to take him down — let’s just
put it that way. It was worth my while to try to stand up and punch
EliteXC, of course released a statement, and a few hours later Petruzelli recanted and explained his original statement. Surely CBS would have loved the match to last longer than 13 seconds- especially when it was a the main event for the broadcast....I wonder how many phone calls were made between CBS, EliteXC, Petruzelli, and Lawyers?
MMA Bloggers are asking for an investigation into this type of behavior!
I was talking to a client the other day, a rather petite lady, and when I found out she chipped a tooth, and when I asked her how she did that- she said in karate class she got kicked in the teeth accidentally......Whoa.. You never know who the person next to you is, and if you have criminal intent like the Italian immigrant in this story, you don't try and mug a four time women's karate champion. No Way- Lara Liotta told the man she didn't smoke- he lunged at her neck.....But with two swift jabs...down he went. Liotta told reporters she was surprised no one came to her aid, despite there being alot of people around.
Welcome to Life Lara. Years ago it wasn't like this, but today- some folks don't want to get involved. Telegraph UK

Sightings for Sasha Baron Cohen's upcoming Bruno( the gay Austrian Fashion reporter) feature have been popping up everywhere. The latest was a "Blue Collar Brawl" at the Four States Fairgrounds in Arkansas. Deceived were 1,500 fans who came to see MMA cage matches, but were treated to a match between two men stripping down to their underwear, embracing, and then locking lips according to the AP story. It took police 45 minutes to quell the beer throwing patrons. It sounds like Cohen's next feature is basically a Borat type movie with Bruno Flair.
In the 50's as a kid, I remember going to my Uncle Meyer's house to watch Gillette's Friday Night Fights, from there I remember going to Miami Beach Convention Center to see Professional Wrestling in the early 60's. EliteXC has a little of both!!
There has been alot of hype around CBS's decision to program Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) EliteXC:Primetime on CBS. Watching the first program, I immediately thought of Vince McMahon and the WWE. The mixture of Diva's, fireworks, and rock music is the signature of McMahon, and its only a matter of time before McMahon once again boards the MMA Train. You may remember Ken Shamrock, an MMA Legend was on the WWF/WWE roster for years. But I am digressing.
Kimbo Slice was on the cover of ESPN magazine, and there was alot of hype around his first match on CBS. In his first match to last past the first round, Kimbo Slice beat James Thompson by TKO. At least that was the outcome Tonite. Kimbo was getting his butt kicked during portions of both rounds- and when the ref stopped the fight after Kimbo opened up Thompson's Ear, I questioned that decision. But it will make for a good rematch. My take is Kimbo needs more training to fight MMA style, as when he was on the mat, he didn't have good moves. This bout had all the makings of a rematch- McMahon Style!
Nice to see sponsors like Burger King, and Miller Lite jumping aboard.
