I don't remember too much of The Electric Company, other than it was a colorful show about reading, and on PBS. But for generations, TEC was the show a young audience could find that reading was fun. PBS has announced that producers Sesame Workshop will be in production for a brand new The Electric Company for the post toddler generation. According to AP - "The literacy crisis today is as pervasive and alarming as it was in 1971 when we created the first version of `The Electric Company,'" said Scott Cameron, director of education and research for Sesame Workshop (which is the nonprofit educational organization behind "Sesame Street"). New programs will begin airing in early 2009.
