Disney's "The Princess and The Frog" Introduces Tiana - First Black Princess for the Mouse House

 Some think that Disney created Tiana, the first black Princess, in the upcoming animated release of "The Princess and the Frog" because of first lady Michelle Obama. Coincidence? Perhaps.....but an animated feature takes years to create, and the Obama's were probably only a blip when the first talk of the concept for the movie came out.

Comcast's Quirky New Dream Big Ad! Combining Live-Action and Animation!

Last night during some cable show- I believe it was HOUSE, I saw this mesmerizing ad for Comcast, and today, I decided to try and find it for a post. It was amazing, I could watch it repeatedly without tiring of it. The integration of live-action, and animation is leaves me spellbound. The only problem is I have Time-Warner, and am wondering why Comcast would buy a spot on Time Warner.

All Star Batman and Batman DC Comic Pulled from Shelves- Batgirl's Filthy Language

Comic retailers were given no reason to destroy all copies of the latest issue of the DC Comic- All Star Batman and Robin by Frank Miller. When one retailer investigated, it was due to some foul language from Batgirl, that was supposed to be blacked out, but the during the printing process the blocking of the words, only made them more noticeable.  I didn't see any copies available of the issue on eBay, but its early yet.

The io9.com post had this piece of dialogue from a teenaged Batgirl: Text every friend you've got, shitheads— Sell your poison somewhere else. This arcade belongs to the fucking Batgirl.

This is not your Father's Batman....but then again, maybe he would like it!!!

Will Disney Lose Mickey Mouse To Public Domain? 1920 Copyright Comes into Question!

The folks at Disney may call the claims cited in the Los Angeles Times story frivolous , but they can't be too happy. Is the iconic Mickey Mouse in jeopardy. Law students researching the case found in 2002  "there are no grounds in copyright law for protecting" the Mickey of those early [Steamboat Willie] films.  According to the LA Times article - Roger Schechter, a George Washington University expert on copyright, called the article's argument "a plausible, solid, careful case." By contrast, a Disney lawyer once threatened the author with legal action for "slander of title" under California law. No suit was filed.

Mickey Mouse has a 95% recognition rate, higher than Santa Claus, and accounts for over 3 billion dollars revenue for the Disney Company.

M & M's Targeting Hispanic Market with an Inner "M"

M & M's wil be using Wilmer Valderrama and Cristina, in a pitch for Hispanic consumers a BrandWeek article noted. There is no mention of whether their will be a brand extension of the candy to include a M & M brand with a hint of jalepeño.

Critics Call it "Filth" Mattel introduces an 'S & M Style' Barbie Doll! Black Canary Comic Doll

The critics are outraged over Mattel's  upcoming release of a Sado-Masochistic (S&M) style Barbie Doll. But wait, the Barbie Doll is one of Barbie's many character doll's....this time of Comic's Black Canary from Justice League of America. Wearing a leather motorcycle jacket, black fishnets, and black gloves and boots. Religious Group Christian Voice according to Fox News calls the Doll  "Filth".   Perhaps the group hasn't seen Bratz.  They are dolls. They look just like some of the folks on Melrose Avenue in West Los Angeles.

RIP Bozo! Larry Harmon 83, He WAS Bozo!

Sad day for clowns around the world. Sad day for clown fans around the world. A very sad day for those in Clowntown USA and the rest of us that grew up with Bozo the Clown. Generations loved him...and now he is gone. Larry Harmon, who took Bozo from a Capitol Record character to the Clown known worldwide died July 3 at the age of 83 of congestive heart failure. First its the death of George Carlin....Now Bozo.........Death comes in Three's. It makes you think...Who will be the next legend to pass....?
