One would think that having a successful program on a major news channel for 12 years would be the epitome of happiness. Not for Alan Colmes, one half of the Fox News Hannity and Colmes cable news program. Alan will be leaving the show, but will still provide his liberal commentary for Fox News Channel, and continue to host his daily Fox Radio talk show.
From Broadcasting & Cable Magazine from Alan Colmes: “I approached [FNC’s Senior Vice President of Programming] Bill Shine
earlier this year about wanting to move on after 12 years to develop
new and challenging ways to contribute to the growth of the network,”
Colmes said, announcing the move. “Although it’s bittersweet to leave
one of the longest marriages on cable news, I’m proud that both Sean
[Hannity] and I remained unharmed after sitting side by side, night
after night for so many years.”
The speculation is now on, as to who will replace the longtime left-wing fixture on the conservative news network, But Huffington Post is reporting that Sean Hannity may become the sole host.
My first thoughts were that Sean Hannity recently signed a big money deal with Fox News, and perhaps Alan wanted his fair share. or perhaps he really did just want to "move on"!
