Angel Matos can rest easy. Fidel Castro has told the press that Angel Matos was "rightfully indignant over his disqualification from the bronze-medal match". Matos "was predisposed and indignant," after being unjustly disqualified, Castro wrote. "He couldn't contain himself." Matos sustained an injury and was disqualified by the referee when he went over the one minute time limit. When disqualified Matos kicked the referee in the face, resulting in a lifetime ban.

I am so happy that the Olympics will be over tonite- that I am posting the CNN story of the Closing Ceremonies- Also the Men's Basketball Team is back on top after beating Spain 118-107.  I feel a sense of relief from TV fans....

Cuban Angel Valodia Matos, Taekwondo 2008 Olympian Judge - Banned for Life!

What happened to that Olympian spirit of Sportsmanship?  Is it because the games are in China, and we "know" how the Chinese are?  Cuban Angel Matos- A Taekwondo athlete has been banned for life because of his actions during a match in Beijing. Matos. According to the reports-  Matos was declared the loser for taking too much injury time after hurting his leg during the men's over-80 kg (176 pounds) match. Fighters get one minute, and Matos was disqualified when his time ran out. Cuban coach Leudis Gonzalez offered no apology for Matos' actions.   

Will Matos be welcomed as a hero or a heel when ( or if) he returns to his native Cuba?

Chyron VP says NBC can remove LIVE from Olympic Events! Will this be my last Olympic Post?

I am hoping that this will be my last Olympic post, It seems like the competition has been going on for months. But today's story has to do with NBC's lame excuse that the tape-delayed feeds to the Mountain and West Coast- cannot be altered to remove the LIVE term.  A Chryron VP told USA Today- That "live" graphic, he says, could be erased "almost in real-time — in seconds!"

So now we have NBC making more news for this technology savvy Olympics.
Come on NBC- stop Clintonizing- and saying because the event is "Live"- the word "Live" should stay on the screen. Live to viewers means going on in "real time" of the broadcast.

Liu Yan, One of China's Best Classical Dancers Paralyzed in Fall during Rehearsal of Olympic Ceremony Opening! Chinese Chose Not to Mention it!

The media, and specifically the Chinese have kept this quiet, but its being reported that famed Chinese Classical Dancer Liu Yan, during a July 27 rehearsal for the Olympic Opening Ceremonies, did a leap and landed on a malfunctioning platform dropping her 10 feet, where she landed on her back. She was rushed to a hospital and endured six hours of spinal surgery, but has no movement in her lower body. Doctors say she may never walk again.  A Chinese news agency finally mentioned the tragedy in a small article on Tuesday, as it appears officials did not want the accident to overshadow the beauty of the Olympics in China.
