Charles "Karel" Bouley Fired From KGO after his Mike was left on!

Charles "Karel" Bouley, the only gay talk show host in the SF Bay area, was fired by KGO Radio, after uttering some expletives about "Joe the Plumber" during a commercial break.  Karel was told by his engineer that  his microphone was off. Little did he know that the mike was "hot", and that Karel's tirade is a YouTube hit. This did not sit well with KGO's mainstream management....

But, Karel, is a unique personality unto himself, and will wind up at another radio station, quicker rather than later. This story will garner local, regional and national publicity and Karel should benefit from his "firing", especially if he has a good agent who seizes upon the opportunity.

The hits this story has generated since posted, show me that the fan base for Karel is tremendous, and as stories develop, I will post them.

The spin is in. SiriusXM CEO said in a conference call he is "pleased and proud of our operating performance". The company only lost $4.88 billion dollars in the third quarter.

Let's see the stock, the last time I looked, was trading at around $ .25. That must make all those celebrities that are paid those high salaries, and had millions of stock options real happy. If I was Karmazin, I would be worried about when automakers begin offering internet in automobiles. Can someone say  4-Track?

Christmas Music Early? 24/7 at WMVN 101.5

WMVN-FM in St. Louis isn't waiting for after Halloween, or Thanksgiving to program Holiday or Christmas Music 24/7. The seasonal programming has already begun. Why, You Ask?  He says, "Christmas music is popular even early in the season."  I noticed Walmart already has their Christmas displays up too.

Los Angeles Time Article Critical of Howard Stern's Move to Satellite Radio!

I just finished  Greg Braxton's  LA Times article on Howard Stern, and all I can say was  WOW! Years ago  when Stern was on regular radio, this type of article would  raise the roof with Stern. But today, the only way I find out about what his show was about- is to go to Mark's Friggin Web Site.  For Stern and non-Stern fans- the article is in-depth, and suggests that Howard got all he wanted when he went to Sirius: Money, No FCC intervention, and no censorship- but at a price- his audience.

Tom Taylor of Radio-Info says  "It's like Howard went from playing Madison Avenue to playing an upscale off-Broadway concert hall for a lot of money."

I don't know i have ever told the story of meeting Presidential Candidate George W. Bush at the Talkers New Media Expo in 2001. I haven't?  Well it would make a great post, because we talked Texas Music. But let's get to the gist of this post.

I believe today was Rush Limbaugh's 20th anniversary radio show, and to mark the occasion, The President, His Father George HW Bush, and Brother Jeb, were having lunch, and said, let's call our buddy and congratulate him......No rumor that at the end of the call - Baba-Booey- Baba Booey.  Since Rush charges for audio feed (something i recommended in Talkers in 2000) - Today I wish I never wrote that column. Howard Stern- Movie Producer! Rock N' Roll High School Remake

I didn't realize the King of all Media was a Movie Producer, but Howard Stern is. Besides his SiriusXM gig, he is co-producing a remake of Porky's, the Bob Clark Classic- and it was announced on Wed. that Stern is co-producing Rock N Roll High School, the Roger Corman Cult Classic, with Alex White doing the scripting. You may recall Alex White starred along with Keanu Reeves in the 2 Bill and Ted Excellent Adventure Movies of the 90's.  No start date for production has been set.

I heard a riveting interview today on KFI640's John and Ken show- it was an interview with Danielle Bologna, wife of murdered San Franciscan Tony Bologna, and her two murdered sons Michael, 20 and Matthew 16. The interview was difficult to listen to and is available as a podcast on the KFI web site, under John and Ken- Murder Outrage.

It seems that El Salvadorian Edwin Ramos was in SF Mayor's Gavin Newsome Sanctuary Program and sent to Southern California to live, where he escaped- and on returned to San Francisco. On June 20 he drove  wrong way down a one way street- and ran into the Bologna's who were returning home from a Barbecue. He stopped his car, and opened fire- killing the three Bologna Family Members. This man was a known illegal alien- The City of SF new it, and ICE knew it.  Gavin Newsome wants to become Governor of California.......not if John and Ken and their listeners can help it.

David Partin Trades Baby Naming Rights for $100 Gas Card to Radio Hosts Dixon and Willoughby! Where Else But Florida?

With this post we start our second year of NoName247. In honor of doing over 3,700 posts our first year, I have given the State of Florida its own category!  Why?  Because it deserves it!

Local Radio is great because of the off-the-wall promotions and contests they do. Florida radio hosts Richard Dixon and J. Willoughby of WHTQ recently had a contest to give away a $100 Gas Card to the listener with the most interesting item to trade. David Partin heard the contest and traded the Baby Naming Rights to his newborn child for the Gas Card.  The Baby will be named Dixon and Willoughby Partin. But- their is a caveat...Dixon and Willoughby will give the Gas Card to Partin only after they see the official birth certificate.  Where else but Florida?
