Original Law and Order Cancelled after 20 Years!

The good news is NBC has renewed L & O SVU, and has greenlit L&O LA, a Law and Order series based in Los Angeles. But the orginal series ends it 20 year run on May 24.

Sad day for Law and Order fans.

Goodbye Lt. Anita Van Buren! S. Epatha Merkerson leaving Law & Order

What more can be said. For over 300 episodes, and 15 seasons L & O fans have grown to love the feisty Lt. Van Buren. It will be interesting to see how producers will handle this change on the longest running drama series ever on television

Law and Order Themes- Anyone ever notice every year they are a little different!

I have been wanting to mention this for some time. As a longtime Law and Order fan, I have noticed that each new season- the theme for each of the 3 L & O program- has a somewhat different arrangement each year. The original, SVU, and CI all have the same basic theme- but each year the arrangement changes. Sometimes it might just a louder beat, or more horns- but once again listening to the L & O criminal intent arrangement for the new season- the opening is the same Theme but with a subtle change in the arrangement.  Any other L & O fan notice this over the years???

A special for the History Channel THE FACE OF JESUS has recreated the face of Jesus using  blood on The Shroud of Turin and other information in a 3D computer recreation. The special will air prior to Easter.

This just in- Reports are That ABC's Ugly Betty Has Been Cancelled!

I know Ugly Betty has tens of thousands of fans, so when they read/hear this news, no telling how they will react. But Fox is reporting the program which ABC moved to different nights during its run, has been cancelled. Production of the show moved from Hollywood to New York a couple seasons ago.  And I thought the show was doing well!!!

Good Bye Monk! You have been a Friday Night Fixture for the Past 8 Years!

Tonite marks the last new episode of USA Network's Monk TV series starring Tony Shaloub. I became a fan over the years, and try not to miss an episode about the OCD detective. I haven't gone to the message boards, but I would hope that Shaloub and cast will come back every once in a while for a TV movie.

Vivid Girl Savanna Samson to Play "Porn Liz" on 30 Rock!

What a coup for Vivid Entertainment to have Vivid Girl Savanna Samson appear as the Porno alter-ego of Tina Fey's Liz Lemon on NBC's 30 Rock. Samson said, My entire experience in working with '30 Rock' was fun from beginning to end.  It's really an honor to play the porn version of the Tina Fey character as I've admired her for years on 'Saturday Night Live' and I love what she's done with this series.  Her latest movie for Vivid is " I was a Teenage MILF"!

Is Dick Wolfe's "Law & Order:CI" Getting Rid of Vincent D'Onofrio, Katheryn Erbe, and Eric Bogosian?

Roger Friedman over at Showbiz 411 is reporting that Law and Order Honcho Dick Wolfe will be making some changes and phasing out long time favorites Vincent D'Onofrio & Katheryn Erbe, along with the great Eric Bogosian, who joined the cast in 2006. Friedman speculates that L&O:CI will be putting it's strength on Jeff Goldblum, who plays a lighter style detective.....Perhaps the grittier intense style of D'Onofrio and Erbe don't sit well with USA Network execs whose programming is much more light dramedy like MONK, or BURN NOTICE.  But as a L&O fan, one is used to changes over the years.  Just wondering when USA network will rerun some of the original episodes with Michael Moriarty as the District Attorney!

A Good Review of The Jay Leno Show! By a TV Viewer - Not A So-Called Critic!

I have been reading all these "critics" panning  "The Jay Leno Show" that debuted last night on NBC. Well, as a TV viewer over the age of 50,(and as most of you know -a L&O fan) I thought Jay's show was entertaining - Isn't that what counts?  I do believe that the program will appeal to mostly upper demographics, and those who may not have cable TV, it's an alternative to all the out-there drama escapism BS shows that give the public bad dreams.

And by the way....what makes a TV critic a critic?  Just because he analyzes TV programs?  Not in my book!  The public will be the final critic...and I am the public, and I liked the show. From the opening monologue, to the Dan Band Segment, to both interview segments (Seinfeld, Kanye). Seeing Kevin as part of the show was a plus!My only complaint - The stage was too big!
